Our Malwarebytes Privacy VPN review

Malwarebytes added a VPN to round out its subscription, and the implementation is honest and unadorned: WireGuard only, a location list, a kill switch, five devices.

Speeds are good because WireGuard is efficient and the network is not oversold. The apps are unobtrusive and integrate with the main Malwarebytes product.

Everything else is missing. No split tunneling, no ad blocking, no port forwarding, no multi-hop, no obfuscation, no streaming support, no cryptocurrency payment and no independent audit.

US jurisdiction plus an unverified no-logs claim means this is not a strong privacy purchase, though Malwarebytes as a company has a decent reputation and no data-selling history.

Reasonable if it comes bundled. Not worth choosing over Proton VPN, Surfshark or PIA on its own merits.
