Our VyprVPN review
VyprVPN was one of the first consumer VPNs to own its entire network rather than renting capacity, and it still does. That means no third-party data center staff with physical access, and it runs its own DNS resolvers so lookups never leave the tunnel.
Chameleon is its anti-censorship protocol, scrambling OpenVPN packet metadata to get past deep packet inspection. It works reasonably well in restrictive networks, though it is a step behind Astrill on the hardest ones.
Switzerland is a good base, and Leviathan Security has verified the no-logs policy. Speeds are respectable and the apps are clean and easy.
The problem is stagnation. There is no port forwarding, no multi-hop, no ad or tracker blocking, and no cryptocurrency payment, all of which cheaper competitors offer. Server count has drifted down rather than up, and the fleet is not RAM-only.
Pricing looks attractive on the two-year plan but renews around $8.33/mo, which puts it above Surfshark and PIA for a thinner feature set.
A reasonable pick if owned infrastructure and Swiss basing are your priorities and you do not need advanced features. Most buyers will get more from Proton VPN at a similar price.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Chameleon protocol?
A VyprVPN protocol that scrambles OpenVPN packet metadata so filtering systems cannot identify it as VPN traffic, which helps in countries that block VPN protocols.
Does VyprVPN accept cryptocurrency?
No. Payment is by card or PayPal only, which is a drawback for privacy-focused buyers.
Is VyprVPN still worth buying?
It is solid but no longer competitive on features. Proton VPN offers a stronger package at similar money, and Surfshark undercuts it.
Bottom line
VyprVPN owns its hardware, runs its own DNS and has an audited no-logs policy, but the feature set has not kept pace and there is no crypto payment option.
